Sapmi Nature Camp Lapponia

One of the Most authentic places to stay in Swedish Lapland.

A cluster of 5 traditional Sami Lavus ( Tepee) around a wooden restaurant and ablutions block. Located in the spectacular Laponia National Park region of Swedish Lapland the camp overlooks a pristine river valley with commanding views to the mountains beyond.

The individual Tepees have sufficient creature comforts to make an authentic experience more than comfortable. Log Burners and circulating air heaters ensure a very pleasant internal climate even when outside temperatures can be well below zero.

A double bed with duvet and sleeping bag ensure a good night’s sleep. A sitting area with table and chairs completes the interior.

The main feature of a stay here is the opportunity to immerse yourself in Sami Culture. The Camp is situated in what are and have been reindeer feeding grounds for millennia. Lennart Pittja, your host lays claim to his family being in the area for centuries and his brother still herds them today.

Activities in the camp can involve Reindeer (if they are around!) or more likely Arctic wilderness skills including cross country skiing or snow shoe walks and Icefishing.

Lennart’s passion for his people, Culture and area will give you unique insights into Sami history past and present.
