Day by Day Itinerary
Day 1
Arrival into Rovaniemi and meet your private transfer who will take you to the Apukka Resort.
Arrive at Apukka and check in before collecting your complimentary Arctic winter clothing. Then you will be shown to your accommodation for the next three nights – the Aurora King Cabin. A cosy room that has a glass roof for you to fall asleep under the stars or spend all night looking out for the aurora. Take the time to explore the area, relax with a sauna experience before enjoying a delicious dinner.
Day 2
After breakfast head out on a day trip to explore the wilderness by snowmobile – a perfect way to get to know your surroundings. Then take the afternoon to seek out some fun winter acitivites such as snowshoeing, snow tubing, or maybe spending some time relaxing in your cosy accommodation.
Day 3
Today you will head out on a 2-hour husky adventure. Get the opportunity to mush and listen to the excited howl of the huskies – another beautiful way to see the stunning winter scenery that surrounds Apukka. Then in the evening you will head out on a 3-hour aurora hunt by car. On this excursion you will be taken to some key locations with a knowledgeable guide, giving you the best chance to witness the aurora.
Day 4
Time to head home, with a private transfer to the airport. You can extend your stay if you wish to spend longer in this part of Finnish Lapland – or maybe you want to head over the border to Norway or Sweden? Just speak to our team who will be able to assist you in putting together some exciting extensions to your trip.

The accommodation options include the Aurora Cabins, notable for their Scandinavian design, which boast full heating and en-suite facilities. Nestled away from the main resort, these cabins strategically position guests to embrace the Arctic night, offering optimal views of the mesmerizing Northern Lights.
Introducing the newly unveiled Lappish Kammi Suites—a harmonious blend of authenticity, ecological consciousness, and historical narratives. These rooms seamlessly merge age-old traditions with contemporary Finnish innovation. For those seeking more space, the Lappish Kammi Family Suites provide two bedrooms and a generously sized living area.
The resort’s Ice Log Cottages offer a local interpretation of the classic ice hotel design, incorporating the simplicity and sturdiness of Finnish log cabins. Similar to traditional snow and ice hotels, guests will rest on a block of ice, wrapped in Arctic-performance sleeping bags and the comforting warmth of reindeer hides.
Enter the Aurora Wagons, four mobile carriages complete with heating, double beds, and kitchenettes. Guests have the unique opportunity to spend a night in these wagons at various picturesque locations, from frozen lakes to snowy hilltops—each an ideal setting to witness the dazzling displays of the Northern Lights.
For those preferring a more conventional stay, the resort provides an array of stylish rooms, suites, and apartments. Equipped with flat-screen TVs and complimentary WiFi, these accommodations are ideal for extended stays, ensuring both comfort and modern amenities.
Although dining may not be the primary focus of this resort, Apukka Café on-site fills the culinary gap, providing breakfast, lunch, dinner, and an assortment of snacks. The cuisine is fresh, seasonal and locally sourced from the nearby lakes and forests.

Overall very good. Staff excellent and helpful. Accomodation basic but was what we expected. Tour guides very good (nature walks, snow mobiles, dog sleighs). Sky station disappointing as we never got to go up due to the weather and this seem to be a recurring feature.The alternative walk at night and meal was a let down as a result.Overall would recommend to others.
