Combine warm rooms and Arctic Cabins with an unforgettable night among ice sculptures at ICEHOTEL in Swedish Lapland.
Icehotel In Sweden

Why Stay at ICEHOTEL in Sweden?
ICEHOTEL offers one of the most distinctive accommodation experiences in the Nordics. Located beside the Torne River in Jukkasjärvi, it combines comfortable warm accommodation with extraordinary rooms and suites created from ice and snow.
You can spend the night beneath sculpted ice, wrapped in a thermal sleeping bag on a bed covered with reindeer hides, before returning to the warmth of a contemporary hotel room or private cabin. This makes it possible to experience the excitement of sleeping on ice without giving up comfort throughout your stay.
During winter, the original ICEHOTEL is rebuilt using ice from the Torne River, with artists creating a new collection of rooms and sculptures each season. ICEHOTEL 365 remains open throughout the year, allowing you to sleep among ice art even beneath the Midnight Sun.
With Arctic activities, locally inspired dining and opportunities to search for the Northern Lights nearby, ICEHOTEL is far more than a place to spend the night.
Where Is ICEHOTEL?
ICEHOTEL is located in Jukkasjärvi, a small village beside the Torne River in northern Sweden. It is approximately 20 minutes from Kiruna Airport, making it accessible while still surrounded by forests, frozen waterways and open Arctic landscapes.
During the darker months, the surrounding wilderness provides excellent opportunities to search for the Northern Lights away from the lights of larger towns. In summer, the landscape is transformed by the Midnight Sun, with fishing, hiking and river experiences replacing winter adventures.
Itinerary Inspiration
A stay at ICEHOTEL can be combined with some of Swedish Lapland’s most memorable winter experiences.
Travel through snow covered forests by husky sled, explore frozen rivers by snowmobile or create your own sculpture using ice from the Torne River. You can also try cross country skiing, enjoy a traditional sauna ritual or dine beside a fire in the wilderness.
After dark, join a guided Northern Lights experience and travel away from the village in search of clear skies. Depending on the evening, you might watch the Aurora from a wilderness camp, beside a frozen river or around a fire with warm drinks.
During summer, you can still sleep on ice inside ICEHOTEL 365 before stepping outside into the light of the Midnight Sun. Days can include fishing, river rafting, forest walks, sauna rituals and outdoor dining beside the Torne River.
Warm Accommodation at ICEHOTEL
ICEHOTEL’s warm accommodation provides a comfortable place to relax after a day exploring Swedish Lapland.
Kaamos Rooms combine Scandinavian design with natural materials, soft colours and large windows overlooking the surrounding Arctic landscape. Different room categories are available, ranging from comfortable hotel rooms to more refined options with added amenities.
For families or travellers seeking more space, the Arctic Cabins offer two bedrooms, a separate living area, a private bathroom and simple kitchen facilities. Located within walking distance of the main ICEHOTEL buildings, they provide privacy while keeping you close to the restaurants, ice galleries and activities.
Warm accommodation can be booked for your entire stay or combined with one night in an ice room or suite.
Cold Accommodation at ICEHOTEL
Sleeping in a room made from ice and snow is the experience at the heart of ICEHOTEL.
The seasonal Ice Rooms offer the classic experience, with simple frozen interiors, beds covered with reindeer hides and thermal sleeping bags designed for the subzero temperature. Curtains provide privacy, while heated changing rooms, bathrooms and saunas are located nearby.
For something more artistic, choose one of the individually designed Art Suites. Every suite is created by an artist and features its own sculptures, shapes and story. The designs change each winter, meaning no two visits are quite the same.
ICEHOTEL 365 also contains year round Art Suites and Deluxe Suites. These allow you to sleep among ice art at any time of year, including during the Swedish summer. Selected Deluxe Suites include a private warm relaxation area, bathroom or sauna, offering an added level of comfort alongside the cold sleeping chamber.
