This short break combines two ‘Arctic Icons’ - the famous original Icehotel and the Abisko Sky Station, both fantastic locations for Northern Lights sightings.
Experience two nights at the original, and in our minds the best, Icehotel, staying one night in an individually designed Art Suite and the other in a Cabin or Kaamos Room. Then you’ll spend two nights in Abisko, widely regarded as the best place for consistent sightings of the Aurora Borealis!

Icehotel Stay
Fly to Kiruna in Swedish Lapland where you will be transferred to the original Icehotel and provided with the use of arctic outdoor clothing: arctic jacket, trousers, snowboots, hat and gloves.
The Famous Icehotel has been wowing guests for 30 years and while many destinations have copied the concept none offer the scale and beauty of the original. Check in for your two-night stay, one in an individually designed Art Suite created by an international Ice Artist and the other in a cabin or Kaamos Room (warm room). Take the residents tour which will give you an overview of how to make the most of your night in this amazing structure.
Dog Sledding and Snowmobiling Adventures
Now you have completed a night in the famous Icehotel, it is time to take part in some great activities – but before then it is important to enjoy a big breakfast! Then at 11am you will meet with your guide for the first exhilarating experience of the day – dog sledding.
Here you will be trained on the art of mushing, each taking your own sled out into the Swedish wilderness. You will stop back at the kennels for lunch and get the opportunity to meet some of the dogs there too, and maybe some puppies! – back at the Icehotel you will be able to check-in into your warm accommodation where you can enjoy a hot shower and little rest before your evening’s activities – Northern Lights Snowmobiling – here you will head out into the wilderness again, this time at night and by snowmobile, in search of the Northern Lights on this fast paced adventure through the forests an over frozen lakes, stopping for a dinner prepared by one of your guides.
Aurora Sky Station
Have a leisurely morning after all the previous days activities before meeting your transfer in the afternoon who will drive you up to your next accommodation at Abisko Mountain Lodge. Then after dinner head out on trip up to the Aurora Sky Station to hunt again for the Northern Lights.

Abisko National Park is sandwiched between picturesque mountains and Lake Tornetrask one of Sweden’s largest and which freezes during winter. Your guide will meet you at the lodge and give you an easy walking tour of the lower part of the park. Be sure to take your camera to photograph some of the spectacular Vistas! Then in the evening you will head out for your final Northern Lights focused trip – this will be take you out to not only try and view the lights but also teach you how to take photographs of them and how to spot them. You will be with the experts who will talk to you about the Aurora and help you take some spectacular photos to show your friends and family back home.

Northern lights tour reviews
We booked with Aurora for a short winter break to celebrate an event. We wanted something special and that’s what we got. Clear information was backed up with straightforward booking detail, and we had a super, holiday with no complications.
The holiday exceeded my expectations and I will use Aurora in the future. Thank you!
My wife and I had an awesome and memorable trip to Iceland thanks to Alex at Aurora Nights. Alex tailored the itinerary to exactly what we wanted to see and chose excellent hotels to stay at. We totally enjoyed the city of Reykjavik and the many beautiful waterfalls. He went above and beyond to not only recommend sights to see around the Golden Circle and Ring Road, but also mapped it out so we were prepared to drive through the country during unpredictable weather and road conditions. And we were especially pleased to see the Northern Lights on our visit. Alex was very flexible to make changes to our plans and choosing the wonderful Sky Lagoon to replace our tickets for the Blue Lagoon due to the closure from the volcanic activity. We highly recommend Alex and Aurora Nights.
An amazing trip and excellent service provided by all involved. Great value for money too. Food was excellent. Accommodation was wonderful and the trips booked were outstanding. An amazing trip
Cannot thank this company enough. Our break to Iceland was the second time we’ve let them organise everything for us and once again they didn’t disappoint. Everything ran seamlessly and the organised tours were wonderful. This company knows what they are doing. If you want to experience the geysers, the volcano, the northern lights and all the other exciting things that Iceland has to offer then this is the company to use.
