Day 1

Arrival in Oslo and Harbourfront Luxury

Your Norwegian adventure begins in Oslo, a city where sleek Scandinavian design, calm fjord waters and rich cultural heritage come together with effortless style. On arrival, you will be met and transferred privately to The Thief, one of Oslo’s most exclusive waterfront hotels.

Set on Tjuvholmen, this design led retreat places you close to galleries, restaurants, museums and the peaceful harbourfront. After checking into your Deluxe Room, take time to unwind and settle into the rhythm of Norway. The hotel spa offers a soothing introduction to Nordic wellness, with a hammam, sauna and relaxing treatments available for those wishing to ease into their journey.

The rest of the evening is yours to enjoy at leisure. Stroll beside the water, admire Oslo’s striking architecture or enjoy dinner in one of the city’s stylish restaurants.

Day 2

A Private Taste of Oslo

Wake to a relaxed morning in Norway’s capital before discovering Oslo through its flavours. Today, a private Taste of Oslo food tour introduces you to the city’s culinary heart, from traditional Norwegian ingredients to modern Nordic creativity.

With your guide, explore local markets, independent cafés and hidden neighbourhood favourites while sampling artisan cheeses, cured meats, fresh breads and seasonal sweet treats. Along the way, you will hear stories of Oslo’s culture, history and evolving food scene, offering a deeper sense of place beyond the city landmarks.

The afternoon and evening are free for you to enjoy at your own pace. Visit a museum, browse boutiques, walk along the fjord or simply return to The Thief for a quiet evening of comfort and understated luxury.

Day 3

The Scenic Railway to Flåm

After breakfast, a private transfer takes you to Oslo Station for one of Norway’s great travel experiences. Your journey carries you through forests, valleys, mountains and remote Nordic landscapes before joining the legendary Flåm Railway.

Considered one of the world’s most spectacular train journeys, the route descends through dramatic mountain scenery, past waterfalls, rivers and tiny farms set high above the valley floor. Your luggage is transferred separately, leaving you free to relax and take in every view.

On arrival in Flåm, check into the historic Fretheim Hotel, beautifully positioned beside the fjord and surrounded by steep mountain walls. This peaceful village setting is the perfect place to slow down after the journey. Dinner is included this evening, allowing you to enjoy local flavours in one of Norway’s most atmospheric fjord locations.

Day 4

Nærøyfjord Cruise and Viking Legends

Begin the day surrounded by the still waters and towering mountains of Flåm. After breakfast, enjoy a peaceful morning before setting out across one of Norway’s most breathtaking landscapes.

Today you cruise through the UNESCO listed Nærøyfjord, a narrow and dramatic fjord where sheer cliffs rise from glassy water and waterfalls tumble from the mountains above. The scenery feels almost unreal in its scale and silence, creating one of the defining moments of your journey.

Arriving in Gudvangen, step into the world of Norse history at the Viking Village. Wander among traditional longhouses, meet craftspeople and experience storytelling that brings Norway’s Viking heritage vividly to life.

Later, continue by private scenic transfer to Bergen, travelling through a landscape of fjords, valleys and mountains. On arrival, check into Opus XVI, a refined heritage hotel in the heart of the city. The evening is yours to enjoy at leisure.

Day 5

Bergen Culture, Food and Mountain Views

Wake in Bergen, Norway’s colourful harbour city surrounded by seven mountains and rich in maritime history. Today, a private sightseeing and food experience reveals the city’s character through stories, flavours and atmospheric streets.

Explore Bryggen Wharf, with its colourful wooden buildings and Hanseatic heritage, before discovering local tastes that reflect both traditional Norwegian cooking and modern Nordic influence. Your guide will bring Bergen’s history to life as you wander through charming lanes, markets and harbourfront corners.

The tour ends with a ride on the Fløibanen Funicular, carrying you above the city for sweeping views over rooftops, fjords, islands and mountain peaks. It is one of Bergen’s most memorable perspectives.

The afternoon and evening are free to enjoy independently. Visit museums, browse local shops, linger in a cosy café or enjoy dinner in one of Bergen’s excellent restaurants.

Day 6

Into the Arctic and the First Northern Lights Chase

After breakfast, transfer privately to the airport for your onward flight to Alta, the gateway to Arctic Norway. On arrival, a shared transfer takes you into the forest wilderness and to Holmen Husky Lodge, your remote Arctic home for the next three nights.

After lunch, settle into your Forest Suite, a striking A frame hideaway with vast windows looking out across the trees. Designed to connect you with the surrounding nature, it offers warmth, comfort and the possibility of seeing the Northern Lights from bed.

This evening, your first Aurora adventure begins. With expert guides, travel into the Arctic landscape in search of clear skies and the best viewing conditions. Warm soup, hot drinks and homemade treats add comfort as you wait beneath the darkness for the Northern Lights to appear.

Return to the lodge for a peaceful night surrounded by forest, silence and Arctic magic.

Day 7

Husky Sledding and a Private Polar Night Bonfire

Wake to the stillness of the Arctic forest at Holmen Husky Lodge. After a relaxed morning, meet the lodge’s energetic huskies and learn about their training before setting out on a thrilling sledding adventure.

Glide through snowy forest trails as the dogs lead the way, the sound of paws and runners carrying you through the wilderness. It is an exhilarating and deeply authentic Arctic experience.

Return to the lodge for a quiet afternoon. Relax in your Forest Suite, enjoy the surrounding views or unwind in the outdoor hot tub.

This evening, travel to Bjørnfjell Mountain Lodge for a private polar night bonfire experience. Set high above the wilderness, this atmospheric setting offers wide Arctic skies and a sense of true remoteness. Gather around the fire while a gourmet meal is prepared and your guide shares stories of the Northern Lights. With luck, the Aurora may dance above you as the perfect Arctic finale to the day.

Day 7

Waterfalls, Arctic Dining and a Final Aurora Hunt

After breakfast, transfer to Sorrisniva Lodge for a guided hike to Orvvosfossen waterfall. The trail leads gently through quiet Arctic forest before opening to reveal the waterfall cascading through rugged rock. For those who wish, a short climb offers beautiful views across the surrounding wilderness.

Return to Holmen Husky Lodge for lunch and a relaxed afternoon. This is time to savour your final hours in the Arctic, whether from the warmth of your Forest Suite, the outdoor hot tub or the peaceful forest surroundings.

Later, transfer back to Sorrisniva for an elegant early evening dining experience at Maku Restaurant. Here, a refined three course menu celebrates local Arctic ingredients through modern Nordic creativity.

Your final night ends with one last Northern Lights hunt. With expert guidance, travel into the wilderness in search of clear skies and Aurora activity. Alta’s dark skies and remote landscapes offer a magical setting for your last evening beneath the Arctic heavens.

Day 9

Farewell to Arctic Norway

After breakfast, it is time to leave the stillness of the Arctic behind. A shared transfer takes you from Holmen Husky Lodge to Alta Airport for your onward journey.

As you depart, you carry with you the many contrasts of Norway, from Oslo’s elegant waterfront and Bergen’s colourful harbour to the steep mountains of Flåm, the glassy waters of Nærøyfjord and the silent forests of Alta.

This journey has woven together culture, cuisine, Viking heritage, scenic railways, fjord cruising, husky sledding and unforgettable nights spent searching for the Northern Lights. It is a rare and beautiful adventure through some of Norway’s most atmospheric landscapes, ending in the remote Arctic where nature feels vast, peaceful and wonderfully wild.

Your time in Norway may be complete, but the memory of the Aurora, the fjords and the quiet magic of the north will stay with you long after you return home.
