Itinerary Inspiration
Day 1
Arrive at Arctic Giant Hotel
Arrival into Kajaani Airport where you will be met by your transfer and taken to your hotel, Artic Giant. Here you will check in and get kitted up with your winter clothing before settling into your accommodation. This will be your home for the next three nights – the perfect getaway to switch off and relax, whilst also taking in the incredible scenery, a few excursions, and the possible sighting of the Northern Lights.
Day 2
Snowmobiling Adventures
After breakfast you will embark on an exhilarating snowmobile journey from the Arctic Giant Birdhouse Hotel, winding its way through the frozen forests of the Kainuu region. Covering a trail of about 20-30 kilometers, the ride halts midway at a cosy fireplace, inviting you to savor a moment with hot beverages and delightful local snacks. Then in the evening you will delve into the essence of the Finnish Arctic with the Aurora Camp excursion.
It’s not just about searching for the Northern Lights, but also indulging in a flavourful tasting experience. This unique adventure intertwines the magic of the Aurora with the distinct Kainuu traditional cooking through a food tasting journey. Starting from the Arctic Giant Birdhouse Hotel, your guide will escort you to the Aurora Camp, where the flickering flames ignite both the fire and the excitement. And if you are lucky, the starry sky, the serene moon, and the Northern Lights might reveal themselves in all their glory.
Day 3
A Day in Nature
You will leave the hotel and head out on a mesmerising guided trip through the wintry panoramas of Arctic Giant. Your knowledgeable guide will lead you into the untamed expanses, narrating tales about the snow, the natural wonders, and the majestic giants that inhabit the Arctic Giant region.
This expedition promises an immersive encounter with Finnish nature, offering a first-hand experience of snow-laden landscapes and the serene tranquillity that defines this remote wilderness. Welcome to the heart of seclusion and natural beauty! You will then have the rest of the day to relax and enjoy the landscape you have found yourself immersed in.
Day 4
Returning Home

We totally enjoyed the city of Reykjavik and the many beautiful waterfalls.
