Enjoy another day of exploring the majestic scenery in and around Abisko. Your photo guide will take you out on your chosen day trip to capture some stunning arctic landscapes. The contrast between the frozen Lake Tornetrask and the mountains that form the Abisko alps creates majestic vistas and with so much light variation two days are seldom the same.
The days in December and up to Mid Jan are short and a period when the light does not rise above the horizon. This ‘blue light’ is so evocative but as it yields to the new sun from January onwards some of the most dramatic arctic sunrises and sunsets occur. Their intensity is hard to describe but the contrast against the white of the snow is simply dazzling and makes for great photographs.
The longer days of Feb and March provide more options for getting to see things during the day and are when you are most likely to see wildlife.

"Just wanted to send you a quick email to say thank you very much for an amazing trip to Sweden. My husband and I had a wonderful time due to all the friendly guides and people who moved us around so efficiently. The icing on the cake was seeing an amazing display of the magical Northern Lights on our last evening. Perfect 50th Birthday treat for my husband which neither of us will forget."
''From booking to returning home everything was just so well organised I could have almost imagined I did it myself but without the effort. Abisko Mountain Lodge - faultless. Simple rooms, clean and warm, but that was clearly pointed in the online brochure, the meals, restaurant and staff were simply unbeatable. The organised activities were so well arranged and everyone involved extremely helpful knowledgeable.
I was extremely lucky to spend 4 nights and saw the Northern Lights every night. If, like me, you were cautious about booking with The Adventure Tour Company I can thoroughly recommend them."
