Jonathan Rempel – Head Guide

Jonathan has been with Special Tours since 2016. He became our Head Guide in 2017, and works hard to hire and train all of our guides and work on educational projects for the company. He has a background in Biology and Environmental Studies and has taken part in a lot of research in marine biology over the years! He is also a licensed skipper for boats less than 12 meters long, so you can also find him piloting the occasional RIB Express tour.


Giulia works as a guide on all of our boat tours and has been with the company since 2017. She is a marine zoologist and conservationist who speaks Italian, Spanish, English, French & Portuguese. She grew up around the sea and has always felt a close tie to the ocean and its inhabitants. She has travelled all over the world, and moved to Iceland to work as a whale watching guide in order to learn even more about whale behavior and pass on her knowledge to our amazing passengers!


Federico works as a guide on all of our boat tours and has been with the company since 2018! He speaks Italian, Spanish and English, and can also be found helping out in our reception when needed. Before he joined our team as a guide he worked as a dive master, underwater researcher and underwater photographer. He has a Master’s degree in Marine Biology, and has plenty of knowledge and experience with marine wildlife!



Jens is one of our captains for Sea Angling, Whale Watching Express & Puffin Express. He has been with Special Tours since 2016. He is a man of many talents and works as a captain, engineer, driver and shift manager! He has a lot of experience at sea and is also educated in fisheries technologies. You may see him on board any of the boats, in our ticket office or during your pick-up.
