Day by Day Itinerary
Day 1
Arrive in Iso Syote and check in to the Arctic Hilltop Boutique Hotel
After arriving in Rovaniemi pick up your shared transfer to Iso-Syote and check in to the Arctic Hilltop Boutique Hotel. This particular itinerary is based on an Aurora View Suite but there are also the options of some upgrade suites or the stay in the more rustic Kelo Cottages!
Spend the evening relaxing and enjoying your new surroundings – perhaps even spotting the Northern Lights from your balcony, or from the hot tub!
Day 2
Dog Sledding Adventures
This morning you will be transferred to a husky farm where you get to meet some very eager dogs. Here you will be introduced to the team and briefed before embarking on a husky sledge ride.
The safari route is a winter wonderland, winding through snowy forests and skimming across ice-covered lakes that glisten like diamonds under the Arctic sun. Along the way, pit stops offer the chance to switch drivers, ensuring everyone can command these furry speedsters while creating picture-perfect moments amidst this breathtaking landscape. Don’t forget your camera – those huskies and the stunning surroundings practically beg to be captured in all their snowy glory!
Then an evening snowmobile safari brings in a unique thrill as you speed through snowy forests and across the fells under the twinkling stars. Pausing along the way, you’re treated to star-gazing moments and keeping a keen eye out for the Northern Lights. A cosy coffee break awaits by a crackling campfire, adding warmth to the adventure. And if luck is on your side, the Northern Lights might may make a dazzling appearance, turning this already magical journey into an unforgettable spectacle.
Day 3
Snowmobile Adventures
Today’s adventure kicks off right from the hotel, where a row of snowmobiles awaits eager riders. The thrilling track leads downhill, then winds its way through snow-laden forests, skirting ice-covered swamps and lakes. Along the journey, a delightful pause is made for a fireside coffee break, adding a cosy touch to the snowy escapade. With refreshed spirits, it’s back on the snowmobiles, this time revving up for the exhilarating ascent back up the Iso Syöte hill, concluding the expedition with an adrenaline-fueled ride.
After the thrilling adventure of exploring the wintry landscapes, returning to the hotel is a welcoming sight. The cosy confines offer a perfect sanctuary to unwind and thaw out from the exhilarating ride. You have the option to indulge in the luxurious spa facilities, letting the warmth of the sauna or a pampering massage melt away any lingering cold. Otherwise, you can enjoy a soak in the hot tub and a sauna back in your room – a perfect way to end a day of adventure, soothing both body and soul in the lap of luxury.

The Eagle’s View Suite – Based at the newly refurbished Arctic Hilltop Boutique Hotel in Iso Syote you will find one of the most exciting rooms to experience – the Eagle View Suite. Built in a position on the hotel where you have the most incredible views over the fells and rolling hills this suite was voted as one of the Top 25 most romantic suites in the world by the Telegraph in 2019 and you can see why.
The suite is split into two floors and is designed around a tree that grows in the centre of the suite. On the ground floor, you have your living area with a cozy fireplace, sitting area, and access to your bathroom which also includes a private sauna. On the second floor, you will find your bed nestled in the tree and with the most epic views – but perhaps before you head to bed you can also enjoy a dip in your private jacuzzi.

This was a bucket list trip. The company are specialists and I’ve valued their advice. Everything from the when to go for the best opportunity to see the lights and equipment needed and provided.Our activities included, the Ice Hotel, night photo shoot, snowmobiling, guided walk and the sky station meal. What a fantastic trip! I booked this for myself and my husband to celebrate my 40th birthday and it didn’t disappoint! Booking was simple and we were kept up to date with all the details from the office team in the UK.
From the moment we arrived at Kiruna airport all the staff we encountered were so friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. We opted for the upgraded room at the Abisko Mountain Lodge which I would highly recommend. The cold weather clothing which was supplied was fantastic and kept us really warm in the sub-zero temperatures. The dog sledging, snowmobiling and the Northern Lights photography were all superb and the staff leading the trips were really friendly and so knowledgeable. Even though we weren’t able to do the sky station trip because of the weather, there was a lovely alternative evening organised for us which included a traditional dinner and a walk to the lake where we were able to see the lights. The food at the lodge was also exceptional and showcased some lovely traditional dishes using Moose and Reindeer which were wonderful to try.
I would like to send a massive thank you to all the staff at The Abisko Mountain Lodge as well as the guides we used for our guided walks, dog sledging and snowmobiling. I’d highly recommend the trip, it was our first visit to Sweden and we would definitely return. Thanks again to everyone (including the huskies) who made it so memorable!

Superb holiday to Iceland, well organised, advice regarding trips informative and far exceeded our expectations (Glaciers and ice Cave) run by South Coast. Hotel Ranga is a lovely hotel, perfect to see Northern Lights (which we did see on our 3rd night), very comfortable, food excellent, staff helpful and informative. SouthCoast Adventure tour company were excellent, guides knowledgeable, and clearly very experienced.

We had a wonderful time! The food at the lodge was amazing and there were some great vegetarian dishes. I had the best beetroot I’ve ever had (beetroot tartare).
Everyone was really friendly and all the guides were good fun and very knowledgeable.
A special thanks to William and Petri who were really friendly and really added a personal touch to our trip. The activities were really well planned and we especially enjoyed the trip with the huskies. The area we were in is stunning and the lodge was very nice.
