Beneath the jagged silhouette of the Finnmark Alps, where the Oksfjordjokelen glacier meets the deep indigo of the Jokelfjord, lies Isbreen The Glacier.
Isbreen the Glacier

This is not merely an escape; it is a profound immersion into the raw, untamed heart of the Norwegian Arctic, curated for those who seek silence, seclusion, and sophisticated comfort.
An Architectural Sanctuary
The experience centres on five masterfully designed geodesic domes, perched delicately on the edge of the boreal forest. These transparent sanctuaries are engineered to dissolve the barrier between guest and wilderness. From the plush warmth of a premium bed, you are invited to witness the celestial theatre of the Northern Lights or the eternal glow of the Midnight Sun.
Each dome is a masterclass in Arctic hygge, featuring:
-
Heated panoramas: Underfloor heating and wood-burning stoves ensure a crisp, cosy atmosphere.
-
Private wellness: Secluded terraces hosting individual jacuzzis, allowing you to soak in steaming waters as the glacier calves into the sea below.
-
Elegant utility: Modern ensuite facilities that provide high-end convenience without detracting from the remote, off-grid aesthetic.
The Art of Arctic Gastronomy
At the heart of the retreat stands the central lodge, a structure of weathered Siberian larch that serves as a warm haven for the senses. Here, the dining experience is an artisanal tribute to the North. A private chef transforms the rugged bounty of the region—wild-caught fish, Arctic reindeer, and hand-foraged berries—into a refined culinary journey. Each meal is a quiet celebration of local heritage, served in an atmosphere of intimate, understated luxury.
Curated Exploration
Isbreen serves as your gateway to the profound stillness of the Jokelfjord. Every activity is bespoke, designed to foster a deep connection with the environment:
-
Winter Adventures: Glide across the frozen tundra on a private snowmobile safari or experience the ancient rhythm of dog sledding through untouched snow.
-
Summer Expeditions: Navigate the glassy waters of the fjord by kayak or embark on guided hikes to the foot of the only mainland European glacier that calves directly into the ocean.
-
Cultural Connection: Gain authentic insights into the indigenous Sami way of life, learning the stories and traditions that have shaped this landscape for millennia.
The Luxury of Silence
Beyond the thrill of adventure lies the Infinity Sky Room—a canopied four-poster bed set under the open sky, offering an unfiltered connection to the Arctic elements. Combined with the wood-fired forest sauna, the property provides a holistic approach to wellness, where the greatest luxury of all is the absence of the modern world’s noise.
Isbreen The Glacier is a testament to the beauty of the North, offering a rare opportunity to stand at the edge of the world in total serenity. It is a destination where the majesty of the glacier meets the warmth of Norwegian hospitality, creating an ethereal experience that lingers long after you have returned home.

Northern lights tour reviews
We booked with Aurora for a short winter break to celebrate an event. We wanted something special and that’s what we got. Clear information was backed up with straightforward booking detail, and we had a super, holiday with no complications.
The holiday exceeded my expectations and I will use Aurora in the future. Thank you!
My wife and I had an awesome and memorable trip to Iceland thanks to Alex at Aurora Nights. Alex tailored the itinerary to exactly what we wanted to see and chose excellent hotels to stay at. We totally enjoyed the city of Reykjavik and the many beautiful waterfalls. He went above and beyond to not only recommend sights to see around the Golden Circle and Ring Road, but also mapped it out so we were prepared to drive through the country during unpredictable weather and road conditions. And we were especially pleased to see the Northern Lights on our visit. Alex was very flexible to make changes to our plans and choosing the wonderful Sky Lagoon to replace our tickets for the Blue Lagoon due to the closure from the volcanic activity. We highly recommend Alex and Aurora Nights.
An amazing trip and excellent service provided by all involved. Great value for money too. Food was excellent. Accommodation was wonderful and the trips booked were outstanding. An amazing trip
Cannot thank this company enough. Our break to Iceland was the second time we’ve let them organise everything for us and once again they didn’t disappoint. Everything ran seamlessly and the organised tours were wonderful. This company knows what they are doing. If you want to experience the geysers, the volcano, the northern lights and all the other exciting things that Iceland has to offer then this is the company to use.
